This paper explores the interplay between Discontinuous Reception (DRX), a power-saving standard, and Age of Information (AoI), focusing on how DRX’s inactive phases can potentially compromise AoI and the balance between energy conservation and data freshness. We propose DRX parameter adjustments using simulations to minimize AoI metrics under energy constraints.
